Is this part of pretty buildings or just perpetuating phallocentricism?  I pass this building every morning on my express bus down to the state building.  It overlooks the Chicago River, and today I just wondered…do these buildings perpetuate phallocentricism?  Just curious!

I once read in Derrida that memory belongs to the past, and as I read the stories and remembrances of Molly Ivins, noted Texas liberal satrist, I think perhaps Derrida was right!  The memories that I am reading from around the virtual world indeed are raising beautiful memories of the naughty queen from the Great State!  Take a look at what the progressive wrote!

“Hey Rothschild, you owe me a Heineken!” That’s what Molly yelled at me over the din at the Café Montmartre in Madison a few years back.

We were having a little fundraiser for The Progressive, and Molly had come free of charge, of course. Swarmed by fans after she spoke, she needed to wet her whistle, which she liked to do more than once in a while.

She believed in the power of laughter. She knew it could keep you from getting depressed or burning out. And she knew it could deflate the abusers of power. Read more »
