with god 2+2 doesn’t always equal 4?

there are times when i listen to sermons and wonder what really is being said. today was one of those tmes.
i went to school w/ a guy by the name of matt chandler who now is the senior pastor of a church in TX: The Village Church. in one of his sermons he says, “w/ god 2+2 doesn’t always = 4.” i found myself befuddled by this, since i didn’t know that “god” was/is a mathmetician. did you? i suppose matt’s theology supports a sense of parsing god into modern day math lessons?
so, does 2+2 equal 4 outside of god?
