phds in the pipeline

I’m very happy to announce on my site that my colleague friend, J. Coleman Baker has been accepted to Chicago’s Lutheran School of Theology Ph.D program! Congratulations, my friend!  Now, I can’t be too excited just yet as he’s waiting to hear back from other schools! But, in the interim, I can hope that he and his family move to the Midwest!

In terms of my work and phd ideas?!  Well, I’m looking into some sociology programs and a program in England.  At the moment I’m on hold and reading.  I’m considering beginning to work on an essay exploring the idea of retaining voice and vocation outside the academy.  This would mostly reflect some of Anzaldúa’s work with autohistoria.  I will perhaps collaborate with a friend of mine who is currently living in California.
