chicago’s night of folk: catie curtis & melissa greener

I have just returned from an amazing night of music at Schubas! Catie Curtis, Ingrid and Melissa Greener were really great! It is great to be in a space where the music has a tinge and spirit of a prophetic edge! If you’re in Chicago this week, check out Greener, a Texan [from Austin], at uncommon ground this coming Wednesday!

Now, Greener opened for Curtis, and the nice round and full folk music was really quite nice! It was great to reminisce with the Texas singer and her “diving” songs. The big expansive sky…I was so there!

When Curtis came on, her performance was so inviting and non-pretentious! Folks really were into her music and the energy was good! Curtis is a must see!

And, by the way, the Harmony Grill is really super good! The Falafel burger that I had was hmm, hmm, good!

If you’re ever, ever, ever, EVER in the city and up for a show, THEN you should check out Schubas!  After living here for almost 5 years, this was my first time there!  It was a nice time, dinner date and music date all wrapped up into one!  And, I even tried a new beer:  Hoegaarden!
